Ashley was born and raised in Cresco, Iowa and graduated from Crestwood High School. With her mind open to a world of possibilities, she set off for the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls.

While her family back home assumed she would pursue a degree in music (after all, she joined two collegiate music ensembles, took horn lessons, and received a music scholarship), she quickly realized her purpose with the revelation that she wanted to pursue law school. During her final year at UNI, she completed an AmeriCorps term of service with Iowa Legal Aid in Waterloo, Iowa which confirmed her passion to become an attorney and advocate for others.

Never one to back away from a challenge, Ashley carries her small-town values of hard work and dedication with her in everything she does. In 2018, she took off for the “big city” of Des Moines to attend Drake University Law School. During her time there, she became the treasurer of Drake Law Women while serving as a junior staff member of the Drake Law Review. In her final year, she took on the immense challenge of serving as the Volume 69 Editor in Chief of the Drake Law Review during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 – 2021. She graduated with high honors and gladly accepted the position of associate attorney with Timmer & Judkins where she gets to do what she always set out to do: help those in need and be a voice for equality and justice.

During Ashley’s free time, she enjoys playing guitar, reading mysteries, binge-watching sitcoms, and listening to her vinyl collection. She also loves spending time with her family, playing board games, and attempting to be crafty (honestly, she should leave the crafting to her sister!).

Ashley is thrilled to be a part of the Timmer & Judkins team and looks forward to helping clients who have faced discrimination, harassment, and retaliation find the justice they so deserve.
